The Milkfish aquaculture industry of Pangasinan proudly showcases its pride, the Pangasinan bangus (milkfish). Milkfish has been a staple in the Filipino cuisine. Many gastronomical dishes have been created out of this water treasure. Daing, paksiw, inihaw stuffed with onion and tomatoes, relyeno and deep-fried are some. No Filipino family is without a good memory of sharing this fish with rice over dinner or in picnics and in family summer events. Milkfish is the pride of the country and has long been known as its national fish.
